Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear

I attended the V&A exhibition 'Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear' on the 26th of October 2022. I spent over two hours at the exhibition, looking at everything. Menswear is a part of fashion I am really interested in, and so this exhibition ignited the fire inside me even more.
This exhibition was created in partnership with Gucci. An associated quote that I read at the exhibition that I admired was by Alessandro Michele, the Creative Director at Gucci at the time: "It's time to celebrate a man who is free to practise self-determination, without social constraints, without authoritarian sanctions, without suffocating stereotypes".
Undressed, Overdressed, Redressed. These three galleries explored different themes. Undressed explored the idea of the male body in its natural form; Overdressed focused on the masculine wardrobe that communicates wealth and individuality; Redressed examined changing styles and attitudes.
This exhibition brought fashion history and present together beautifully in a exciting and unique way.
